TEAM APPROACH

 

The Elements Group is headed by principal architects and partners Michael Holliday FAIA and Steve Camp AIA. Mr. Holliday and Mr. Camp have been responsible for the management, design and construction of over $500 million in architectural projects over the past 25 years of professional practice together. Major projects have been located throughout California, Nevada, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii and Costa Rica and have been completed for major commercial and residential developers, institutions and private corporations. Responsible for design throughout his professional career, Mr. Camp is a licensed architect and focuses on strategic management and implementation of the firm's award winning design efforts. Elements Group maintains design offices in Santa Barbara and Aliso Viejo, California, and is currently involved in a number of projects located in the south-western US, Costa Rica, and Hawaii.

Mr. Camp has a passion for working with Christian Ministry Leaders to help them identify their facility needs and plan for the future in a manner that maximizes their resources.

 

During the early part of his career Mr. Camp worked with the nationally recognized firm, The Austin Company. While working with The Austin Company, Mr. Camp played a significant role in all aspects of the design and construction of a $95 million office building/hangar facility for McDonell Douglas Corporation.
 

His next career step was to assist in opening an Orange County office for the Pasadena firm, Barash Architects, where his responsibilities included business development, design, construction documents and construction administration for various commercial and institutional projects in the Southern California area.
 

In 1990, Mr. Camp opened an Orange County regional office for the Santa Barbara firm, DesignARC Inc. It was during this period of his career that he began designing various Christian Church and Private School projects. His first major church commission was in 1994 with The Coast Hills Community Church in Aliso Viejo, CA.

In 2005, the office of DesignARC Orange County was renamed Elements Architecture. Mr. Camp garnered his first local design award for the custom residence known as "The Falcon House," located in Carmel, CA.

“Mr. Holliday has a passion for working with people and for sustainable and environmentally responsible design. He is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional and member of the US Green Building Council. Mr. Holliday maintains an expertise in securing project planning and design approvals through the various Santa Barbara County and Santa Barbara City Review agencies and his various Community Board Memberships and Civic activities have allowed he and his firm to participate in numerous high profile public and private projects.

 

After graduating with a Master’s Degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Mr. Holliday began his architectural career with the firm of Gruen Associates, Inc. of Los Angeles. At Gruen, his responsibilities included design, construction documents and reprographic coordination for projects such as The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art and the $2 Billion California Plaza Project in downtown Los Angeles.

 

After gaining considerable experience in all aspects of architecture, Mr. Holliday returned to Sarasota, Florida, and became principal in his own firm of Johnson Peterson Holliday Architects. His position encompassed management of the office, as well as, design and supervision of large commercial and residential projects.


Holliday was a senior partner with DesignARC from 1989 to 2006, where he managed and oversaw the design and construction of approximately $100 Million in commercial, institutional and several large residential projects. His expertise in design and management of large projects have won he and his firms several local and state design awards for Excellence in Architecture from the American Institute of Architects.
